Google Opens Office in Bogota

The Colombian newspaper La República recently informed that Google, the technology company which main service is its web search engine, will open an office in Bogota, in order to make it the center of operations for the Andean Region, Central America, and the Caribbean. 

Daniel Gertsacov, the company’s Director for Latin American New Markets, explained to the Newspaper: “This year will be of great importance for the region, (…) We are planning to double our work team in Latin America. In Colombia we will establish the headquarters to manage the commercial operations in the Andean Region, Central America, and the Caribbean. 

Operations in Colombia have already started, and Google has staff working in its Bogota office. Gertsacov continued: “we are confident we will find the best possible human talent in the country. We believe the qualifications of Colombian professionals will allow us to reach our goals”. 

In relation to the company’s goals for this year, Gertsacov said that Google is expecting to double both its income as well as human capital. “Colombia will become one of the most important Latin American countries for our company”.
