Colombia Among ‘Most Attractive’ in Region, RBC Says Bloomberg.com By Veronica Navarro Espinosa and Andrea Jaramillo 01.28.2010 Jan. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Colombia is one of the “most attractive investment opportunities” in Latin America, RBC Capital Markets said. “We see Colombia as one of Latin America’s most attractive investment opportunities over the next 3-5 years,” analysts including Paul Biszko and Nick Chamie wrote in a report today. “Any deeper near-term global risk-asset correction should be used to increase exposure to Colombian risk via currency, local equities or future corporate debt issuance.” Should President Alvaro Uribe not run for a third term “no major shift in economic, regulatory and security policies is expected,” RBC said. Uribe hasn’t declared whether he will seek another term. Colombia’s presidential elections are in May. Colombia’s peso, which may be “fully-valued” according to RBC, has jumped 18 percent in the past year while the IGBC index has risen 49 percent.
