Bogota, a global city 

Bogota has the biggest bicycle path during weekends which was created 35 years ago and in which over a million people get together. 50 cities have copied the same model. 
 
Transmilenio is a massive transportation system that has served as a benchmark and has been copied in 57 cities, including Mexico City, Johannesburg, Jakarta and Guangzhou.
 
 
Bogota is ranked 4th over 46 cities in Latin America in broadband coverage, placed above cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Lima.
 
Bogota has public services coverage of over 100% (education, health, water, etc.)
 
The homicide rate per every 100.000 habitants has decreased from 34.3 in 2001 to 19.3 in 2011. The city is securer than Panama City, Caracas, Rio and New Orleans.

According to The Economist, Bogota is above the average in the Latin American ranking in ecologic procedures.
 
The city has more than 5,000 public parks, including the Simon Bolivar which has an area of 113 acres.
